The Dallas Stars ~ Will The Stars Shine? by Jennifer Kate

The Dallas Stars. What can I say? They took down one of the better teams in the Pacific Division, the Seattle Kraken in a seven-game series that was fun to watch.

Let's all be honest here, we all saw this coming these two teams were pretty evenly matched. But anywhere, we’re not here to talk about Seattle, or at least not in this blog. We’re here to talk about the Dallas Stars.

The Stars ended the regular season in second place in the Central Division, right behind the Colorado Avalanche, who had an early exit during this year's playoffs.

The Dallas Stars ended the regular season with 47 wins and 21 losses and 14 overtime losses for a total of 108 points, only one point behind the Avalanche.

Now let's deep dive a bit into the Dallas Stars 2022-23 roster and talk about some of their players.

First up, let’s talk about some of the big names on the Stars roster Jamie Benn, who has been in the NHL since 2009, is a legend in his own right.Benn ended the regular season with 33 goals and 45 assists and was a +23.

Tyler Seguin, who has been in the league since 2011, is a legend in his own right and a former Stanley Cup champion, winning it in his rookie season. Seguin ended the regular season with 21 goals and 29 assists.

Max Domi, who entered the league in 2015 and is one of the other better-known names the Stars have, ended the regular season with 20 goals and 36 assists, though he was a -15.

I think you guys see where I'm headed by pointing out all the big names on the Dallas Stars. They have a stacked roster with some big names, but they also have their fair share of young upcoming talent, such as Jason Robertson, who has become a leader for this team. Another young star on this team is Roope Hintz, who scored a huge goal for Dallas during Game 7 against the Kraken.

Now as far where I see Dallas going in this playoff run, that is a tricky question. As much as I spoke about them being stacked with talent, I honestly think they will lose in six or seven games in the Western Conference Finals. I think, overall, that Vegas is the hungrier team for a Cup. I’m not saying Dallas can’t win and move on to the Stanley Cup Final, I just think it’s going to be quite the challenge for the Stars to take down the Knights.

Now I want to look back at Dallas’s road to the Cup, because I think they had a pretty hard road to get here and they have overcome a lot of tough obstacles to get to where they are. In the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Stars had to play the Minnesota Wild, coming out on top in six games. Then in round two, as we discussed earlier, they played the Kraken and edged them out in seven games. Now here they are getting ready to face off against Vegas in the Western Conference Finals in the hopes to make it back to the Stanley Cup Final.

Let's Go Stars!

I will catch you guys in the next blog talking about more Stanley Cup Playoff teams.
