Sweets, Treats & Eats was one of those things that came out of the Covid 19 pandemic. With encouragement from his family to find something to do as a family project, host Howie Morgasen has always had a fascination with food and how it is made.
The aim of the podcast is to break things down and make them simple so novice cooks would want to try them. It is a work in progress as we continue to evolve the podcast and look at all different types of foods. He also has a fascination with foods that help celebrate holidays and family events, those are the foods that trigger good memories of when you were growing up and enjoying these foods with families and friends.
He also has a good time looking at the gadgets that you can cook with and how they can make cooking easier. In addition to cooking great food, he also talks about how to serve it and shows you plating suggestions that make your food look as great as it tastes. Most importantly he wants to have fun in the kitchen and involve your family and friends in the joy that comes from cooking.

Howie enjoys good food, and it has always been part of his life from the start. He has always tried to be with family in the kitchen to learn from what they do knowing that someday he would be cooking for his family. Food is a hobby for him which means he does it because he wants to and helps make people around him happy.
He is constantly researching food to understand what it is and what you can do with it. He has done a fair amount of traveling for business and it has given him the opportunity to experience other cultures' food up close and talk to the local people about their food and traditions. He enjoys spending time with family and friends and cooking and enjoying food is his way of showing that he cares about them.
He enjoys doing research on food by watching the Food Network and spending lots of time on YouTube seeing how his fellow podcasters do things. Food is a universal thing and he considers himself the ambassador to make people see how fun and enjoyable it can be.
