NFL News: Isaiah Buggs Released By Chiefs After Multiple Arrests By Grant Winsauer
According to Adam Schefter, the Kansas City Chiefs have released Defensive Lineman Isaiah Buggs after multiple arrests in Alabama this offseason.
According to ESPN.com, the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Buggs in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. In three years in Pittsburgh, he played 29 games, totaling 31 tackles with no sacks. He played the last two years with the Detroit Lions, where he played another 27 games and tallied an additional 58 tackles.
It is too bad that Buggs didn’t stay out of trouble because if he hadn’t gotten in trouble, he would have had a great shot at getting a Super Bowl ring. Because of the amount of talent the Chiefs’ defensive line has, he would have been a rotational player, but from his stats, it seems like Buggs was always a rotational player. With all the talent the Chiefs have on offense, they never have a problem making it to the Super Bowl.
It will be interesting to see who will give Buggs a shot after being arrested multiple times this offseason. I don’t understand why NFL players think that since they have money, they are invisible to getting in trouble because they aren’t.
Buggs may never play in the NFL again, or if he does, he will be bouncing from team to team on short-term, one-year deals because that is usually the most likely outcome when players are still allowed to play in the NFL but have gotten in trouble.
Whatever happens with Buggs in his NFL future, we wish him luck and hope he figures out how to stay out of trouble so he can either continue his NFL career or we want him the best of luck with his future beyond the NFL.
