D-Man's Final Fantasy Football Draft Analysis By: Daniel Schreiber

I'm Dan "D-Man" Schreiber from Empty The Bench Podcast Network. Here is my take on my final PPR fantasy football league draft with 14 rounds and 14 teams back on September 3. In my draft, I was the 13th overall pick out of all the fantasy football leagues I have done. This was the highest overall pick I've ever been. It was tough being at that overall pick. I tried drafting the best I could, and that's all you can do. Here is my original draft position order.

I made different moves throughout the draft than the original draft position order. Here is how my draft came out.

WR: Amon-Ra St. Brown

RB: Derrick Henry

RB: Dameon Pierce

WR: DJ Moore

QB: Justin Herbert

TE: Dallas Goedert

RB: Raheem Mostert

WR: Courtland Sutton

WR: Nico Collins

RB: Elijah Mitchell

RB: Tyjae Spears

WR: Jonathan Mingo

DEF: Kansas City

K: Jason Sanders

On my third-round pick, I went with a RB instead of a WR because the next best available RB was Dameon Pierce. I knew someone else would take him right after me if I didn't draft him. He's a great RB, and I wanted to pick him up. In the fifth round, I was confident that I could still pick up a good QB instead in the fourth round. I was so happy to be able to draft QB Justin Herbert because he's outstanding. In the eleventh round, picking up a RB over a WR was a good idea because I drafted RB Derrick Henry in the second round. Since he is one of my starting RBs, I picked up Henry's backup RB Tyjae Spears. Derrick Henry should be fine this season from not suffering an injury. Of any positions to pick up a backup player, I feel RB positions are the most important to draft as a backup. After the draft, I realized the ranking sheet I was using to follow and cross off the players that the other league members drafted was Half-PPR. I mistakenly missed the section from the rankings website that I used and didn't realize it was defaulted on Half-PPR. It wasn't a big deal because the player rankings would just be one to a few spots off. Doing the ranking sheet, cross-off technique is always a good idea because it will help keep you organized throughout the draft. You'll also know what players are left to pick up. Make sure to be very careful if you are looking to print out ranking websites. It's set on the right settings of PPR.

Here are my recommended players based on my draft. They are good to pick up.

QB: Justin Herbert

RB: Derrick Henry and Dameon Pierce

WR: Amon-Ra St. Brown, DJ Moore, and Courtland Sutton

TE: Dallas Goedert

Sleepers: WR Jonathan Mingo

Rookie WR Jonathan Mingo will be a good sleeper pick up towards the end of a 14-team 14-round draft. He performed excellently at the NFL Rookie Combine this year and is fast. Reading up on him, he could be the Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young's main target during the season. He also will be one of the starting WRs for the Carolina Panthers.

Based on my draft, I hope my advice helps you with your 14-team PPR fantasy football drafts. Good Luck!
