NFL News: Chicago Bears Selected for HBO’s “Hard Knocks” By Grant Winsauer

NFL

Adam Schefter reported Thursday that the Chicago Bears were chosen for the training camp version of Hard Knocks.

This will be cool for the people who can’t get tickets to Bears training camp when it is open to the public. Only a certain number of people will get tickets, and they usually go fast. Still, they will go even quicker this year because of all the new talent the Bears brought to help Caleb Williams’ development.

According to Schefter, “Hard Knocks” will see new faces, including Caleb Williams, Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze, D’Andre Swift, Kevin Byard, and Shane Waldron. This is an excellent opportunity to see how this revamped team takes shape before the preseason.

It isn’t shocking that the Bears were chosen for “Hard Knocks” because when you look at this team on paper, they look like they are the most improved team this offseason. If the offense can take the proper steps to improve, the Bears will be a hard team to stop next season, and I think I can speak for all Bears fans. We are here for it.

When you think about it, there has never been a No. 1 overall draft pick who walks into a situation where he has two No. 1 receivers in D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen and then a tremendous No. 3 deep ball receiver in Rome Odunze. He will also have two great tight ends in Cole Kmet and Gerald Everett. Because of those great offensive weapons, people forget that the Bears signed Swift, a great runner who can catch the ball out of the backfield, which will be a great safety blanket for Williams.

However, the biggest thing that will help Williams' development is that he will be practicing against a top-10 defense every week during training camp and when the Bears are preparing for games during the season. If a rookie quarterback gets the chance to do that and learns how to beat them in practice, I see him having no problem doing it during the season when the Bears take on opposing teams.

Either way, “Hard Knocks” will be exciting to watch during the summer. According to Schefter, the first episode will air Tuesday night, Aug 6.
