NFL News: “Hard Knocks” Episode Two Reaction By Grant Winsauer
The Chicago Bears' addition of “Hard Knocks” has not disappointed me so far, and episode two was just as good, if not better than episode one. The only disappointing thing about episode two was that it didn’t air on streaming when it was supposed to, so Bears fans had to wait to see an exciting episode.
Bears fans got to see what Caleb Williams did to prepare for the first start of his career against the Buffalo Bills in week two of the preseason, and he did not disappoint. During the two drives he was out there with the starting offense, he completed 4/7 passes for 95 passing yards and had one rushing attempt for 13 yards. Ninety-five yards in two drives is better than our previous quarterbacks, so Bears fans should be excited.
The next thing I was super excited to see was Keenan Allen getting his first catch against Jaylon Johnson in practice because, until then, Allen hadn’t gotten a catch of Johnson. I hope Bears fans realize how significant that is because Allen is a future Hall of Fame receiver, in my opinion. So, if Johnson can lock him up in practice, I see no problem in him locking up the Bears' opponents' receivers this upcoming season.
The last thing that I enjoyed was when Rome Odunze advised teenagers who attended the Bears practice. They mentioned that they were playing football. Odunze gave them some good advice: “The more you prepare, the better you are.” Then he referenced the late Kobe Bryant and said, “Kobe never took a shot in a game that he didn’t take 1,000 times in practice.” For a rookie to give good advice to a teenager, I hope they listen and ball out in high school.
