Simone Biles - She's Still Got It By: Jennifer Kate
I'm back with another blog, which will be shorter than the others because this will almost be like part two of the other blog i wrote about Simone Biles. Let me introduce myself if you guys need to know who I am. My name is Jennifer Kate. I'm a producer for Fruity Serial here on the Empty The Bench Podcast Network.
Let's talk about Simone Biles winning her eighth U.S. Championship at the Xfinity U.S. Championships. Remember to speak about Biles's rare standing ovation after her floor routine. Biles scored 15.400 on her floor exercise and received a rare standing ovation. She got 118.450 points and beat second-placed Shilese Jones by 3.9 points. This national championship she competed at allowed the gymnast to qualify for the national team and make it to the world championships, which will be held in Antwerp, Belgium, late next month. Her victory at age 26 made her the oldest woman to win a national title since the competition was taken over by USA Gymnastics in 1963. Biles has won 25 medals at world championships, including 18 golds - higher than any men's or women's gymnastics in history.
I want to put a question out there for all of you who will read this blog. Is Simone Biles the greatest gymnast in history? In my opinion, she is the greatest gymnast of all time because let's look at some of the facts i put in the paragraph above. She's the oldest woman to win a national title since 1963, and she has also won more gold medals at world championships than any men's or women's gymnast in history.
But that will wrap it up for this blog. Thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed it, and I will see you in the next blog.
