D-Man's Fantasy Football Draft Analysis By: Dan "D-Man" Schreiber

I am Dan "D-Man" Schreiber from the Empty The Bench Podcast Network. Here is my take on my PPR fantasy football league draft with 14 rounds and ten teams from August 28. In my draft, I was the 4th overall pick. Here is my original draft position order.

I put this draft position order together a few hours early in the morning before going on vacation on August 27. Towards the end of my draft, I was two positions short. I made a mistake since my thinking was off from being tired. It's always important to make sure if you put together a draft position order to double-check it a few times to ensure everything runs smoothly. After I was done picking my last player in the draft. I then realize, OMG, I'm two picks short. I then had to figure out what to do with rounds 13 and 14. On the 13th pick, I was going to pick up a WR. I couldn't believe it; with drafting on Yahoo Fantasy, I lost connection and suffered an auto-pick with Anthony Richardson. Then, on my last pick, at least it ended up being a sleeper throughout the whole draft. I was surprised no one picked him up. So, on my last-round pick, I drafted rookie RB De'Von Achane. He's supposed to be very good fast, and he could start during the season. Achane could start because Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. can always get injured.

After the draft, I had to figure out how to fix that Anthony Richardson auto-pick mistake. Since I needed a WR, I found two starting WRs in free agency. I found JuJu Smith-Schuster and Adam Thielen. As a good idea in free agency, putting a few players on waivers is always a good idea. I placed JuJu on waivers as a priority and second priority, Thielen. I was so glad as of August 31 to get JuJu off waivers over Thielen. JuJu is better to pick up over Thielen. Throughout the draft, I made some changes to my draft position order. Here is how it came out.

  1. Austin Ekeler - RB LAC

  2. Amon-Ra St. Brown - WR DET

  3. Chris Olave - WR NO

  4. Rhamondre Stevenson - RB NE

  5. Justin Herbert - LAC QB

  6. Darren Waller - NYG TE

  7. Terry McLaurin - WAS WR

  8. Alvin Kamara - NO RB

  9. Christian Kirk - JAX WR

  10. Brian Robinson - WAS RB

  11. Buffalo Bills - DEF

  12. Tyler Bass - BUF K

  13. Anthony Richardson - IND QB

  14. De’Von Achane - MIA RB

After my draft, I still did well. At least I fixed that Anthony Richardson error, lol. What was also crazy was two other members in my league that I'm in charge of also suffered an auto-pick from being disconnected from Yahoo Fantasy. Next year, with my league, I'm in charge of. Next season, I'm using the fantasy app Sleeper, and no more Yahoo Fantasy. Sleeper is better to use than Yahoo Fantasy with drafting and throughout the season. The reason is with Yahoo Fantasy players drafting, they can suffer lousy connections. When players use Sleeper, it's becoming the newest popular fantasy app. The layout is also similar to Yahoo Fantasy, with exciting features, and there is a good connection when players draft. I recommend drafting with Sleeper over Yahoo Fantasy.

During my draft in the 3rd round, I decided to take a WR instead of an RB because I knew if I didn't pull the trigger, I would pick a great WR, Chris Olave; someone would take him right after me. I'm happy to pick up Rhamondre Stevenson as my 2nd primary starting RB in the 4th round. It's great to pick up 2 RBs in the top 10 rankings. I'm also glad to be able to pick up in the 5th round an outstanding QB, Justin Herbert because I'll have a great QB and RB combo with Austin Ekeler since they are both on the same team. They also have excellent playing chemistry, and Ekeler is a great pass-catching RB. I also was surprised to pick up in the 8th round Alvin Kamara. I know he is a good RB since he has a three-game suspension and won't play till week 4. If you feel your team is looking good, it is safe to pick up Kamara if no one is taking towards the middle of your 10-team PPR draft.

Based on my draft, my recommended players are good to pick up.

QB: Justin Herbert

RB: Austin Ekeler, Rhamondre Stevenson, and Alvin Kamara

WR: Amon-Ra St. Brown, Chris Olave, and Terry McLaurin

Based on my draft, I hope my advice helps you with your 10-team PPR fantasy football drafts. Good Luck!
