This Is Who I Am ~ Telling Wayne Brady's Coming Out Story By: Jennifer Kate

Well, I'm back with another blog. I wasn't planning on blogging for a bit, but this is a story i need to tell.

If you guys have ever watched Let's Make a Deal or Dancing With The Stars Season 31, there is a particular person on both of those shows that I'm going to be talking about: Wayne Brady. Less than a day ago (well, from the time i am writing this blog), Wayne Brady has come out as Pansexual. Pansexual means sexually or romantically attracted to people regardless of sex or gender. Brady tells People Magazine I love all people equally, and now that includes myself.

Wayne Brady goes on to tell People that he is Bisexual with an open mind! Wayne Brady's Ex-Wife and Daughter also made a statement about Brady coming out. His ex-wife Mandie Taketa was the first one Brady came out to. Taketa says I just said, great, as I knew coming out would help him be happier. Maile, Brady's daughter's response to him was primarily a shrug. I just said okay. She remembers breaking into a big, proud smile.

Wayne Brady did say to People Magazine that he knew he couldn't come out as Bisexual because he's never had the chance to act on anything. Brady was married to Diana Lasso from 1993 to 1995, and then they separated, and he remarried in 1999 to Mandie Taketa till 2008. Brady goes on to say that he knows he's messing up the dictionary definition of Pansexual, but to him, being pan means being able to be attracted to anyone, regardless of gender or sexuality, across the board.

I'm so happy for Wayne, and i hope he lives his best life feeling free and happy being the best version of himself. I'm glad that he feels comfortable coming out at all. So many people are terrified to come out and don't have the support. According to the article written by People Magazine, Wayne has a great support system. That's about it for this blog. Thank you so much for reading, and I look forward to writing more blogs soon.
