In the main event of UFC 301 flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja defends his title in his native country of Brazil, against ranked contender Steve Erceg. Pantoja is a dominant grappler who recently defeated Brandon Royval by decision. Erceg is a very talented prospect who has gone 3-0 since joining the UFC. Currently, Pantoja is a betting favorite at online sportsbooks (-180).

Erceg has one-punch knockout power on the feet, which he showcased in his last fight with Matt Schnell. Pantoja has faced top-level competition and is no stranger to going five rounds. Erceg has never been scheduled for 25 minutes, so it will be interesting to see how his gas tank holds up.

Prediction: Alexandre Pantoja by Decision

Jonathan Martinez (19-4) vs. Jose Aldo (31-8)

UFC Hall of Famer Jose Aldo makes his return to the promotion in the co-main event of UFC 301. Aldo will take on surging contender Jonathan Martinez, who is riding a six-fight win streak into this matchup. Aldo will compete for the first time since losing to Merab Dvalishvilli in 2022. Martinez (30) is seven years younger than Aldo and may have an advantage in speed.

Martinez enters this contest as a (-150) betting favorite at online sportsbooks. This is going to be a striking battle between one of the UFC’s all-time greats, and a young athletic finisher who wants to make his mark. Martinez holds wins over respected opponents like Said Nurmagomedov, Cub Swanson and Adrian Yanez.

Prediction: Jonathan Martinez by KO/TKO

Vitor Petrino (11-0) vs. Anthony Smith (37-19)

A light heavyweight matchup between former title challenger Anthony Smith and undefeated Brazilian finisher Vitor Petirno promises fireworks on the UFC 301 main card. Smith is a veteran of the sport with over 50 professional fights. Petrino has looked impressive in his short time with the promotion and has seven wins by knockout on his record. Petrino is a massive betting favorite at online sportsbooks (-650).

Smith has been knocked out 11 times in his career and was stopped last time out against Khalil Rountree. Petrino is one the brightest up-and-comers in the UFC. The athleticism of Petrino may lead to problems for Smith on the feet.
