Wake Me Up It's Hockey Season Part 3 By: Jennifer Kate

Well, I'm back with part 3 of this hockey blog extravaganza. And now, we are moving on to the Eastern Conference, my favorite. But we are going to start with the Atlantic Division. I'm purposely saving the best Division for last, but let's get into this blog.

The Atlantic Division is probably one of the more spread-out divisions, and what I mean by that is the bigger teams in this Division will all be at the top fighting, and then everyone else will be spread out. But let's get into which teams are in this particular Division. The teams in this Division are as follows: The Boston Bruins, The Buffalo Sabres, the Detroit Red Wings, The Florida Panthers, The Montreal Canadiens, the Ottawa Senators, the Tampa Bay Lighting, and last but not least, the Toronto Maple Leafs. Let me give you a quick rundown of how these blogs will work. Each Conference has two blogs, and each Conference gets its own for a total of 4 blogs.

So let's start with the Boston Bruins; everyone knows this team is always at the top of the Division and the entire NHL. Last year, this team won 65 games and had a total of 135 points, which is the most of the NHL as a whole, and they won the President trophy. They had the greatest regular season win total in NHL History. Shoutout to my amazing boyfriend, Hank Indictor, who you know from Hitting For The Cycle; they will make it to the playoffs.

Moving on to the next team, which is The Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres are another exciting team. They will not make the playoffs but have been underrated for years. They will be on the higher end this year but still not at the top. But let's talk about the big-name players of this team, and they are as follows: Kyle Okposo, Jeff Skinner, and Erik Johnson.

Next up are The Detroit Red Wings. They are by far the worst team in this Division. They aren't going anywhere. They don't have enough talent. They are the Arizona Coyotes of the Atlantic Division. Let's talk about big names since there is little else to say about this team. The big names are as follows: Alex DeBrincat, JT Compher, and, last but not least, Moritz Seider.

Now, onto The Florida Panthers. They are a very sneaky good team. I like them. The other teams in this Division need to watch out for them. They will be in the top three in the Division. Let's talk about some big-name players because they have quite a few of them, and they are as follows: Matthew Tkachuk, Aleksander Barkov, and Sergi Bobrovsky. I could go on and on with big names on this team, but I have to be fair and keep it to three like every other team.

Onto an interesting Montreal Canadians team, they had a very interesting season last year with a few bright spots of hope with Former New York Ranger Marty St. Louis at the helm. They also had a young upcoming talent named Cole Caufield. They also have a few big names, but they only make playoffs once I get to that. But they have a lot of fun young talent on their team, and they will be good in the coming years. But let me get to the big-name players, and they are as follows: Brendan Gallagher, Joel Armia, and, as I mentioned earlier, Cole Caufield.

Onto the Ottawa Senators, another disappointing Canadian team. Again, they are not making the playoffs either. They just aren't good enough. The Division has massive heavy hitters, so they need more to beat that. But anyway, let's move on to the big names on this team: former New York Ranger Vladimir Tarasanko, Brady Tkachuk, and last but not least, Claude Giroux.

Besides the Boston Bruins, one of the best teams in this Division is the Tampa Bay Lighting. They are stacked. I could see them giving the Bruins a big run for their money in this Division. Tampa will easily be in the top 2 or 3 of this Division. They had a great run last year. Let's move on to the big-name players because, like some other teams I have mentioned, there are so many of them that I'm only going with three to keep it fair. The big names are as follows: Steven Stamkos, Andri Vasilevskiy, and, last but not least, Nikita Kucherov.

And last but not least, The Toronto Maple Leafs. They made things interesting last year by making it to the second round of the playoffs since 2004, where they lost in the first round. They are also an excellent team with a lot of stacked talent, and I have another hot take for you. Toronto should go back to the second round again this year. But let's talk about the big names on this team because, as I stated, for multiple teams, they have so many, but to keep it fair, I only pick three of the biggest names, and they are as follows: Auston Mathews, John Tavares, and Former New York Ranger Ryan Reaves.

That's about it for this blog. Thank you so much for reading. I look forward to bringing you the final part of this four-part blog extravaganza. I hope you enjoyed reading this. Let me know your picks for this year on social media, and I will catch you guys in the next one.
