CeeDee Lamb Finally Gets His Extension from the Cowboys By Grant Winsauer
The Dallas Cowboys and CeeDee Lamb finally agreed to a monster extension first reported by Ian Rapoport.
The extension is a four-year deal worth $136 million. Lamb got under the highest contract for the wide receiver position, with Justin Jefferson being the only person ahead of him. That could also change because Ja’Marr Chase seeks a four-year contract worth $160 million. It will be interesting to see if he gets that kind of money.
The Cowboys finally got something right by signing Lamb to his extension after having a very quiet offseason, even after owner Jerry Jones said he was “all in” on this Cowboys team. If Jones were all in on this team, he would have signed more impactful free agents because the people he and his team did sign won’t make much of an impact.
Now Lamb can shift his focus from wanting his contract to taking the next few weeks of practice to get back into football shape. I don’t think that will be a problem because he has been training with his cousin Keon Coleman, a rookie wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills.
The Cowboys still have a few big contracts to figure out, and those few are quarterback Dak Prescott and linebacker Micah Parsons. It will be interesting to see if the Cowboys have enough to sign them to extensions. I don’t think they would sign both; they would sign the player who had the better season than the two.
If I had to predict which player would get the extension between Prescott and Parsons, I would go with Parsons because he has been a force of nature for the Cowboys since entering the league in 2021.
