“Hard Knocks” Episode Three Reaction By Grant Winsauer

The third episode of “Hard Knocks” came out last night and did not disappoint. None of them have so far.

The episode gave us insight into Ryan Poles trying to trade for veteran pass rusher Matthew Judon to pair with Montez Sweat, but the deal fell through because they couldn’t agree on a contract extension. I must say that I am ok with that because he is 32 years old, and even if we did get an extension done with him, who’s to say that he would have stayed for the whole contract?

The episode also showed us footage of the Bears vs. Bengals joint practice, which was fun to watch for a few reasons. The first reason was that they practiced pouring rain, and watching the players slip and slide on the practice field was fun. The second reason I loved that they included that practice footage was that the Bears’ defense picked off Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow three times. The final reason I loved this episode came from the footage of the Bears’ home preseason game when Caleb Williams scored his first NFL touchdown. Williams ran it in behind Teven Jenkins, and after that, he wouldn’t let go of the ball, and I don’t blame him. If I were him, I would keep that ball and buy a display case.

The Bears edition of “Hard Knocks” has been great so far, and we have two episodes left before we get to the regular season. These last two episodes are going to be awesome. It is too bad that the Bears’ regular-season edition of Hard Knocks is unavailable because it would be cool to see what they would do differently during the season regarding what they include in the show.
